Bright and Shiny, and Taking a Nap
In the winter sunshine of a Sunday afternoon in March, MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter Rail System)
diesel-electric locomotive No. 30 takes a snooze from her duties at Baltimore’s Pennsylvania Station.
The 3,600 horsepower MPXpress MP36PH-3C pulls trains, sometimes double-heading on MARC’s Penn Line between Baltimore and Washington, and to communities as far north as Perryville, MD. The type also operates on both the Camden and Brunswick lines.
