Bull Point Lighthouse

Der Leuchtturm am Bull Point liegt in Nord-Devon und bewacht die südliche Einfahrt in den Bristol Channel. Also ich ihn vor langer Zeit besuchte, hatte ich ein einfaches Teleobjektiv mitgenommen, um seine recht kleine Fresnel-Linse dritter Ordnung in Aktion zu zeigen. Als dann spät in der Dämmerung doch endlich die Lampe eingeschaltet wurde, war der Akku meiner Kamera leer und ich hatte keine Ersatzbatterie mitgenommen!

Was hatte ich für ein Glück, dass ich bis dahin schon dieses Bild gemacht hatte, bei dem sich zumindest die Abenddämmerung in den Linsen spiegelt...

Bull Point Lighthouse is istuated in North Devon. It marks the southerly corner of the entrance into the Bristol Channel.

When I visitied it many years ago, I brought a very simple tele zoom lens, because I had a picture in my mind that shows its rather small, 3rd order catadiopric lens working in the dark.

When the light finaly lit, the best part of the dusk was gone, it was rather dark against the brigth light and after all, my camera battery had died. I did not bring any spares, which should never happen again (but it will, I guess).

I was so glad to had shot this picture with the last bit of battery that shows at least the sunset in the dioptirc center part of the lens.
