Colorful, Tri-Lingual, Graphic
The Upper Engadin village of Samedan is rich in photo motifs, whether one is looking for distinctive Engadin
architecture and sgraffiti, cobblestone ways, church spires, or the views across the valley to impressive mountains.
But sometimes it’s the “little” details that attract a photographer’s eye in this sunny spot in the Graubünden Alps.
On an autumn-perfect afternoon in 2010, while shooting in Samedan, my attention was captured by the bright, vivid colors
of the fire hydrant and the waste receptacle with its doggie etiquette instructions in Romansch, German, and Italian.
And, even if one is not conversant with any of these, the graphics leave no doubt as to their messages ;-)
