Colourful Costumes

Sunday's Festivities in Chinatown ..... Wet, crowded, loud (drums, cimbles, firecrackers), smelly (firecrackers) ..... and not necessarily in that order but - hard to get some decent shots.
Hope you like the red frame - not usually my style, but that's how I felt after I returned yesterday.

Very colourful indeed!! I expect those beads will get on his nerves after a while banging his face constantly!! I would have to turn the hat round! ;))

The red frame fits the theme.
On Chinese Carnival/New Year, lots of (red) color
is an absolutely must.
I think it's nice when traditions from home
are taken into the far away new homeland.
Have you worn a costume (or Tracht) as well?

: ))))))))))))) this is great! a picture whose secret theme is "looks and eyes": the eyes looking away under their ritualistic golden veil of beads, the eye of the performing girl behind him staring to the ground, the eye of the female spectator looking up to her boyfriend, and, finally, the hilarious ocular grin ; )) that very boyfriend directs at the camera! it makes my (ice-cold) morning! ; )) hugs, sabine.
