Common Scorpion Fly (Panorpa communis) (2)
The name scorpion fly comes from the shape of the male's tail, resembling that of a scorpion. Despite their appearance, they are harmless and do not sting. The tip of the tail has a pair of claspers which he uses when mating with the female.
