D-B in Winter

Deutsche-Bahn red enlivened an otherwise drab and drizzly
day in February 2008 on this trip along the Alzey-Mainz line.

This route is diesel-powered, at the time being a mix of BR 628/928 diesel-hydraulic
multiple-unit railcars and locomotive-powered push-pull trains using BR-218 "Rabbits." (*)

This view of an Alzey-bound train was taken from the front of a Mainz-bound DMU.

F-C friend Tom Reitzel was my guide on this first visit to the area. Danke, Thomas!

Hey man...You show us a german Diesel - Triebwagen...that's great.
Every month when I visit my friend in Überlingen, I take this train cause the Line Radolfzell to Ulm is not electrified...so You have to take Diesel or Steam );-.
Two weeks ago I read in our Newspaper, that they will try a Train with Batteries on this Line.
Have a good time and best Regards,
    Hans-Gerd
