Reminds me of scenes when I was a kid. Dad and my uncle always ended up playing the lego more than we did;-(
Re the photo: I agree with Oliver: crop off the girl on the right. Also the bright light on the top left is a too strong and distracting.

A normal scene, but a good b/w. The motion blur at the boy worksk very well, but Dad's hand should be sharper. The part of the little girl in the right is disturbing.
