D.C After Dark No.11 - The Streetcar at Union Station
Traction enthusiasts might consider the title a "double entendre" as the
D.C. Streetcar does happen to operate on 750 volts D.C. from the overhead catenary...
But the title is actually the name of a new series of photographs taken in Washington, D.C. after sunset.
The D.C. Streetcar is a free service running along the newly revitalized H Street Northeast Corridor
of Washington, from Union Station to the intersection of Oklahoma Avenue.and Benning Road.
The Union Station stop is on the H St overpass high above the railroad tracks leading into
the station,as well as those of the Red Line of Washington's MetroRail rapid transit system.
