it's not the dead despair in the eyes of the grown man that shocks me. it's the same expression in the eyes the child!! it just shouldn't be there yet. crushed hopes belong to the ones that have led a life. she hasn't even started hers!! she shouldn't be hopeless yet. she should be hopeful! and maybe – hopefully! – it's just a short moment that was frozen in time here by photography, a great visualization of a social problem, but that in real life will pass and be succeeded by other, happier emotions washing across her face… i sure hope so! an impressive and moving picture! greetings, sabine.
