Ein zweites Bild der Bolan Pass-Strecke zeigt unseren Sonderzug mit der formschönen ALCo-RPW20 3830 (3826 schiebt) in der berühmten Dozan-Schlucht zwischen Hirok und Kolpur, wo mit Hilfe 40 o/oo-Steigung den Pass erreicht wird. Beeindrückend die doppelgleisige Ausführung und die absolute karge Landschaft. Damals gab es schon in diesem Gegend Raketten-Angriffe auf den Planzügen - Balochistan war immer wieder ein unsicheres Land...

Dozan Gorge between Hirok and Kolpur on the famous Bolan Pass line with ALCo-RPW20 (re-powered 2000HP) 3830 leading and 3826 pushing engines. The Pass is reached with the help of 1:25 gradients and many bridges and tunnels. At that time, there were already reports of rocket-attacks on regular passenger trains in this area - Balochistan has always been a 'hot spot' area. Nowaday the whole territory is 'no-go' to foreigners - a shame as the most spectacular landscapes on Earth are offered there !
