Felucca of the Nile

A felucca
is a traditional wooden sailing boat used in protected waters of the Red Sea and eastern Mediterranean including Malta, and particularly along the Nile in Egypt, Sudan, and also in Iraq. Its rig consists of one or two lateen sails.

Oh, was für eine herrliche Wohngegend - in der Nähe des Nils, die Grundstücke so schön eingewachsen und dann dieser Blick! Ich versteh nichts vom Segeln - mir fällt nur auf, dass dieser Mast doch recht, recht hoch ist... :-)
Eine wirklich wunderbare Aufnahme!

Looks like they are under motor power at the time of this shot. I would like to see them with the sails unfurled. Good shot of the houses and shore, looks like a nice park along the far side of the river.
