Full-on Storm

Pike National Forest is full of the most beautiful sandstone rock formations, and as I set out on my hike that afternoon, it was sunny and warm, so I expected to have a long hike where I would photograph rocks during a beautiful sunset! Instead the weather unexpectedly, (although quite expectantly for Colorado), turned dark, cloudy, and windy. Undaunted, I continued to photograph until the rain came!

In my opinion stormy days can get you the most interesting shots, especially when the sky is darker than the land.
