Glory of the Snow

Everybody knows crocuses and snowdrops as typical late winter bloomers, but there exist also other, more unknown, species like this very hardy ‘glory of the snow’ that usually starts blooming in march in a flashy blue colour.

It is originally originating from the mountains of south-western Turkey where they often bloom through the snow.

Dutch name : Grote Sneeuwroem
German name : Grosse Sternhyazinthe (auch Schneeglanz oder Schneestolz genannt)
Latin name : Chionodoxa forbesii
