El estornino pinto (Sturnus vulgaris) es una ave con pico cónico, amarillo, cuerpo con plumas negras de reflejos verdes y morados y pintas blancas, ala y cola cortas y patas rojizas.

Mide 19 a 22 cm desde el pico a la extremidad de la cola, y 37 a 42 cm de envergadura y pesa de 60 a 90 g.

Esta ave vive en bandadas y se alimenta en el suelo, metiendo el pico entre la hierba para localizar insectos y lombrices.
