Gritty and Grimy on the Gowanus - A Red Hook Impression
They seem kindred spirits...
At the mouth of the Gowanus Canal, in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, sits a derelict, disused grain elevator, its 12 stories tall, 70 feet wide, and 429 feet long structure containing fifty-four 120-foot-tall cement silos, long abandoned.
Somehow, the grimy cargo ship tied up next to the Red Hook Grain Terminal seemed..right at home.

Amazing photo, the vertical drop of the decaying wall and ship give it a dramatic touch.Past greatness...

I like that rusty, decaying atmosphere.
