Her Baby Goat

There was something so very tender about this moment…
And I was both glad that I had a camera at the ready
and that the comely young lass was so at ease and
willing to be photographed with her baby goat.

If you look closely, you can see the tiny horn
“buds” sprouting out of the little goat’s head.

I have always been moved by the special kind of love,
the gentle, unquestioning kind that exists between
people, especially the young, and animals. (*)

I also happen to have a fondness for goats! (**)

For both reasons, I was happy to re-discover this
special moment, captured in 1986 in the inviting
Southern Maryland community of Solomons.

The town is located on the peninsula where the
Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay.

Another charming portrait from another charming gal.
Hadn´t you already mentioned the tenderness of this scene, Steve, I would have written about it in my comment. There is a softness that only youth can radiate. A lovely moment that, without your photography, would have been lost forever.
