Hoverflies. (Episyrphus balteatus)

Here is a picture of two Hoverflies enjoying a rest on a Wild teasel (Dipsacus fullonum).

Taken using a Sigma 105mm Macro lens with a small touch of fill flash to lift the detail on their gossamer wings.

This is a migrant species of Hoverfly, which is very common throughout Britain from April to November.

    Ah they look like twins!! (I should know, I am one!) I love that they are sitting on a teasel, it is such a lovely word and flower! Brilliant shot.
