Interlaken Ost Station
...on an autumn afternoon.
This is one of two train stations in Interlaken, and by far the most interesting for the train-lover, as it is a very busy nexus of standard gauge SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) and B-L-S Lötschbergbahn trains, which terminate here, and the narrow gauge lines that meander into the steep valleys on their way to connections with trains to the highest Alpine reaches, including the Jungfraujoch. Arriving passengers can also board the SBB's narrow gauge Brünig Line which runs along the scenic Brienzersee on its way to Luzern. Or, in this plaza in front of the station, one can board Post buses that connect Interlaken with neighboring villages along the opposite shore of the Brienzersee, such as Iseltwald (*), which is where I was heading on this October afternoon.

the water and reflection adds a special touch to this image, giving a slightly surreal feel and an excellent muted reflectionHans-Gerd Hacker 09/09/2016 17:41
