Kingfisher

With its blue upperparts, orange underparts and its long bill, the kingfisher is one of our most striking colourful birds.

The species inhabits clear, slow-flowing streams & rivers and lakes with well-vegetated banks.

Dutch name : IJsvogel
German name : Eisvogel
Latin name : Alcedo atthis ispida

Shot was made with a 1450mm lens (600mm + 2,4x extender) which was necessary because the bird was about 100 meters away.
Next time I hope for a closer encounter :-))
