Lined up at Paddington
The skylights of the expansive train shed of London’s magnificent Paddington Station allow this Heathrow Express (nearest the camera) and four First Great Western trains to show off their natty livery and shiny flanks on this November afternoon.
The Heathrow Express is electric, while the FGW Class 43 HST’s attain their high speeds with diesel-electric propulsion.
The photo, taken in 2013, makes its first appearance here.

Immaculate like their - long time gone - steam predecessors of GWR heritage!Decades back it was the last time that I saw Paddington or any other London station, and hence I only know these high speed trains in their British Rail livery. Well, I must say, their new FGW livery is much more attractive, and I hope they still may have a future on rails...
