LIRR Mets Willets Point
Winter sunshine creates strong shadows on the stairs leading down to the Long Island Railroad tracks at Mets Willets Point station. The platform serves the LIRR’s Port Jefferson Branch, which connects its namesake and intermediate points in Long Island and the borough of Queens with New York’s Penn Station in midtown Manhattan.
The station is reached from a broad promenade that carries pedestrians high above the expansive Corona Yard
where lots of NYC Subway 7 trains snooze between rush hours or get worked on in the Corona Maintenance Facility.
The promenade, known as the Passarelle Boardwalk, connects Mets Stadium (Citi Field) and the 7 train’s Mets-Willets Point Stadium with Flushing Meadows Park and the National Tennis Center, which includes Arthur Ashe Stadium, the main venue of the US Open tennis tournament.

We have been at Flushing Meadows Park this year, but we came by car :-)Our kids wanted to see the "MIB-towers" and we took the opportunity coming back from our Long Island Tour.
However, we always enjoy the subway and meanwhile we experienced a lot of different lines.
