Nakba- 15.05.1948
Back in 1948 "Az Zeeb" was a Palestinian village at the Mediterranean Coast near the Lebanese border in now a days Northern Israel. The residents of the village were fishermen and farmers. Troops of the zionist para military underground group "Hagana" attacked the village violently during the operation "Ben Ami" in may 1948 during the Nakba (Cathastrophy in Arabic) and forced their inhabitents to flee. Around 1.910 villagers from "Az Zeeb" became refugees.
Today one part of the village is abandonded and falling apart in it´s ruins, a second part including the former Mosque became an Israeli nationalpark with picknick and bbq areas- no signs remember the former Palestinian narrative of the village "Az Zeeb".

Looks like a nice and romantic place but history tells us a sad and violent story.Kind regards,
