on top of the world

Due to the heavy weather conditions the one of the most northerly highways in the world, the "Top of the World" Highway from Dawson City to the Alaskan border is opened during summer time. Its track follows the crests of the hills with breath-taking views into the valleys and the wide landscapes. In sighting distance to the Canadian-Alaskan border crossing it reaches the summit at 4100 ft.

Der "Top of the World"-Highway von Dawson City zur Grenze von Alaska ist als eine der nördlichsten Straßen der Welt nur im Sommer befahrbar. Die Straße folgt den Bergkämmen mit atemberaubenden Blicken in die tiefen Täler und weiten Landschaften. In Sichtweite zur Grenzstation liegt der höchste Punkt mit gut 1200 m Höhe.

    Oh, Matthias, Du bist ihn gefahren? Ich habe ihn auch kennengelernt bis Dawson City. Er ist einer der schönsten Highways, den ich kenne.
