Pagodas in the Orkhon Valley
Tövkhön Monastery is one of Mongolia's oldest Buddhist monasteries,
The pagodas also called chorten located in the high altitude at 2,600 meters on the Shireet Ulaan Uul mountain.
The monastery was restored in 1773 and then suffered severe damage during the Stalinist purges of the late 1930s, as Mongolia's communist regime sought to destroy the Buddhist religion in the country.
But the two pagodas remain in their original status.
The photo was captured with the iPhone 6s Plus because I left my camera equipment down in the car at the starting point.
