It’s a late Sunday afternoon at Baltimore’s Pennsylvania Station and a steady stream of taxis and private cars make their way along its plaza to drop off and pick up passengers, as several trains converge on the terminal on the tracks below for destinations up and down the East Coast.

The impressive Beaux-Arts structure was completed in 1911. It was originally called Union Station, as it served both the trains of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Western Maryland Railway. It was renamed in 1928 to match the other stations of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

It now is the terminal for trains of Amtrak and the MARC commuter rail system as well as Baltimore’s Light Rail transit system.

It stayed a station as intended at least!
    Fine building, properly photographed, Steve.
    Perhaps a bit more wide-angled?

Best regards, thx for the mails btw, know you´re busy!
