This is the flower of Petasites albus who prefer fresh soil stands. The very familiar Petasites hybridus is the feeding plant of the larva of the Butterbur Moth (Hydraecia petasitis Doubleday). The larva feeds in the stalks of the leaf.

Hoffnungsvoll stimmt die kleine Pestwurzpflanze. Wenn sie sich zeigt ist Frühling. Im letzten Jahr sah ich sie erst im April mit in einem Bach stehend blühen.Herzliche Frühlingsgrüße sendet
