the nostalgic charm and period feel of this image – it's almost cinematic to me! i have to admit i'm a little confused in terms of the background of this image: i'm not sure i fully comprehend, so i'm trying to sort it out: "FFI"… i google and find "forces françaises de l'intérieur"? if that's what it is, i think i'm in the picture now: it must be an image taken during some kind of vintage memorial re-enactment of past events? the little boy looks almost doll-like, dressed in his immaculate vintage clothes and radiating bygone times… the rained-on roof of the car – raindrops symbolizing tears… –, the limited view framed by an intimidating "giant" (in the foreground), and the "trilogy of eyes" make the image for me! the vivid gleam of the eyes: so expressive! a paragon of life's vulnerabilities! bises, sabine.
