Is milk still transported in such jugs? If I look at the baskets next to them I presume, that they are situated there out of nostalgic reasons only Am I right?

Thank you, David, for this nostalgic bit of railroadiana. The first thing that came to mind was the ages-ago fun with my Lionel Trains layout and the active little electromagnetic milkman who never tired of unloading such silver milk jugs from a white dairy car onto his platform!
Must see this line one day!

Eine Szene wie aus uralter Zeit aufgenommen, die Lok passt zeitlich wunderbar zu den Transportkörben und den Kannen, das hat wirklich etwas nostalgisches an sich.
