Turkey Asia Minor City of Ephesus
Ephesus was a Greek city on the coast of Ionia on Asia Minor(Turkey). It was a city of glorious history from 10th century BC when was built till the 15th century AC when declined. It thrived during the Greek classic era, the Hellinistic era, the Roman and also early Byzantine era reaching a population of almost 40000 inhabitants. The city was particularly famed for the Temple of Artemis(completed around 550 BC) and considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.Also for its library. Ephesus was one of the seven Orthodox Churches that are cited in the Book of Revelation and was also the site of several 5th century Christian Counsils.The city declined gradually after the Turkish occupation.

The way you have edited this scene has mad those wonderful ancient columns really take prominance in your chosen viewpoint and the strong shadows from said columns add strength to the picture. The Lady sat contemplating is a perfect human foil to those ancient stones.

I like the luminosity of the columns against the deeply filtered sky. But the composition is completed by the woman in the foreground deep in thought.
