Rolling Down the Hudson
An Amtrak Empire Service train crosses the Spuyten Duyvil
swing bridge on its way to New York's Penn Station.
The GE Genesis P32 AC-DM diesel on the point will make use of its Dual Mode
capabilities when it enters the Empire Connection tunnel near Penn Station by
switching its traction motors to take power from the 600 volt DC third rail.
The photo was taken from the high ground of Inwood Hill Park at the northern tip of Manhattan.
