severed neatly just above the roots, it seems. poor old drifter! hope it'll find peace at some distant shore – illusion of a new beginning, sprouting shoots… –, while the remains of his trunk are manufactured into something useful – a herd of durable rocking horses for children's homes all over the world maybe…
