Selfi shoot in Phra Ruang Hot Springs
The rooster figure next to my self-portrait has a deep Thai meaning:
According to legend, young prince Naresuan challenged his stepbrother, Burmese prince Phra Maha Uparaja, to a cockfight, which he won. This victory is considered an omen for the eventual liberation of Ayutthaya from Burma's rule. For this reason, countless rooster statues of different sizes are placed near statues of the king, as is the case here at Phra Ruang Hot Springs Garden.
