Still at work
It’s early autumn, but on a sunny day, the Buff-tailed Bumblebee is still at work on the flowers of Monk’s Pepper, one of the last blooming wild flowers at this time of the year.
When the autumn cold weather sets in, all bees except the young queens will die.
The latter seek out a safe place to hibernate. They are the only ones to survive the winter.
Dutch name : Aardhommel op Monnikenpeper
German name : Dunkle Erdhummel auf Mönchspfeffer
Latin name : Bombus terrestris / Vitex agnus castus

Busy Bees is such a fitting name for all the little ones finding blossoms, collecting nectar. This is a lovely capture, Mark. Beautiful sharp details of the little bee and so colourful the blossoms.greetings, Adele
