very grainy ... strange.there would be a portrait section .... it's not that much of documentary & journalism ...

It's a nice capture, but it could have been better if you just filled the whole frame with just his face.The background is very distracting, and too light, even though it is blurred.
Try cropping in from the right side up to his face.
