Sunset in Lünen - image 4

I took this photo on the 08/05/2020 at 20:55 o'clock in the German city "Lünen" in the German federal state "North Rhine-Westphalia". The city has approximately 86.000 inhabitants and is in the north-east of the "Ruhr district".

I used a Canon EOS 77D with the Canon EF-S 18-135mm STM lens. The image is resized and got a color correction of 5-255. I increased saturation and contrast slightly. I didn't edit the picture further yet. (3710)

I like your sunsets Hansjorg. The only suggestion I would have is to show a little more of the land below the horizon even though it is in silhouette. Remember the rule of thirds.

  Thanks Colin for your comment and hint concerning the "rule of thirds". It was interesting to notice the name of the rule in English. I studied one year in Finland in English but that is more than two decades ago. And certain words like aperture or "depth-of-field" were never teached in school or during the study since I studied business administration and not design or photography. And the "rule of thirds" was also not a common term in English for me. In your comment within my profile you used the term "macro closeups". It was very interesting to see the term since I never know whether "macro photo" or "closeup" fits for that kind of pictures. I used a dictionary but it doesn't give the best translation because often more than just one translation exist. I called the folder for my pictures "close-up photos" but might change that now to "macro closeups". I am really not sure how to call that kind of photos in English.

  Macro photo or macro closeup both work but if you are naming a folder I would go with Macro Photos as being a slightly more common usage.
  As a small hint on English grammar, it is full of exceptions to confuse our foreign friends. The past tense of teach is taught. I know, you have to love it.

  thanks for your answer. It took me a while to reply. I prefer "Macro photo" because it is the same word like in German. So far I though macro photo doesn't work in English.
