Sweet Crimson

Sugar cane, in friend's yard in Hilo. The eastern part of Big Island of Hawaii was once sugar cane territory, with numerous plantations. Hilo itself is a plantation town. One by one, the plantations and sugar mills closed down, so that there is no more sugar cane industry here. The northern part of the island is still ranch country, and the Kona side (western) is still noted for its coffee.
