Tehran at the Azadi Tower
Azadi Square, formerly known as Shahyad Square, is a mainly green city square in Tehran. It hosts as its centerpiece the Azadi Tower. The tower and square were commissioned by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, to mark the 2,500-year celebration of the Persian.
The name "Azadi" (Freedom Tower) of this majestic tower represents the country's journey towards freedom, progress, and modernity.
But for a freedom system Iran still is far far away so the name is irony.
