Temple of Heaven, Qilin
Temple of Heaven is an Imperial Sacrificial Altar in Beijing. It was built in 1420 A.D. during the Ming Dynasty for sacrifices to Heaven. This picture shows one corner of the fence of the open air sacrificial altar. The tiles and the sculpture of Qilin represent one of the finest examples of ceramics from the Ming dynasty.
