Thai kids playing Thai music
Thai schoolchildren playing on traditionell instruments for a perfomance during the visit of HRM Princess Maha Sirindhorn at the Thai/German center in Bangkok.
On the lefthandside the girl is playing the big drum called Taphon. The boy at the middle playing the Ranaad Ek and the girl at the rightside playing the Khong Wong Yai, a circle with gongs used in the music of Thailand.
The music they play is Luk thung, or Thai country music, developed in the mid-20th century to reflect daily trials and tribulations of rural Thais.
