The Cello Player
Last days I was "cleaning up" my photo files on my computer and I stumbled
over a set of studio portraits of a cello player. Years ago he had asked me to shot some photos for a CD cover. I studied 4 weeks long the details of studio technique and rented a studio. The shooting lasted a couple of hours with him playing J.S.Bach. The problem was that he had just returned from a concert in China and suffered a jet lag. From todays perspective I am not safisfied with me considering those results but yesterday I made a try with one of the old shots.
What do you think especially about cropping his arm off… For me I think that this way of framing gives him the attitude of concentration…on his music.

Very good picture of the color tone, lighting, detail and sharpness, but I see that your doubt with the view on the cut of the right hand of this musician, comes to be confirmed by observing both Leo_nid and Adele's opinions, and of course also mine viewpoint that is the same with the above mentioned friends. In others words, we said, it is a very good picture!
greetings, Christos

great close and sharp capture of the chello player ... to me his arm and bow are too import to leave off - it is such a big part of how he makes his music ....greetings, Adele
