The Crown of the Industry

A medium format analog picture taken in Essen. I attempted to turn the building into as close to an illustration as I could by overexposing orthochromatic film. The red brick and red steel mining cable pulley become dark, instead of the light appearance in real life. The sky instead becomes completely white since it is far overexposed. This is combined by a camera angle that makes the building feel like it is an isometric drawing, to separate the built from the site in real life as much as possible.
