The Frozen World (9) : Blue Tit
Not a landscape this time, but a bird living in the frozen world : the Blue Tit.
In winter, Blue Tits can often be found in the neighbourhood of human settlements, like gardens with feeding tables.
This specimen however I captured in the great outdoors, hanging above a frozen lake and feeding on cones of the Black Alder (Zwarte Els / Schwarz-Erle).
Photographed last week in the early morning light by -10°C and a bloody cold wind.
Dutch name : Pimpelmees
German name : Blaumeise
Latin name : Cyanistes caeruleus (previously Parus caeruleus)
