The Fungi world (60) : Deer mushroom

This is an old specimen of the Deer mushroom whose cap colour can vary from deer-brown, light ochre-brown to dark brown, with even a touch of grey or black.
It’s one of the few fungi that can easily grow in dry weather conditions.
(spot the little visitor)

Dutch name : Gewone hertenzwam
German name : Rehbrauner Dachpilz
Latin name : Pluteus cervinus

Nice illumination and good composition. Due to this dry autumn here we hardly could find mushroom in the forests. But as I can see you were quite lucky there.

Yes, I did use 2 reflectors while taken this shot.
It is often so dark in the forest that without reflector all details of the main subject would be lost.
