The Living Forest (162) : Poplar Leaf Beetle
The Poplar Leaf Beetle is with its ladybird-like shape a beautiful scarlet appearance and can be found mostly in damp forests.
The leaves of poplars and willow trees belongs to its favourite dinner.
When disturbed, this beetle secretes a bitter and foul smelling liquid to chase away enemies like birds.

German name : Pappelblattkäfer
Latin name : Chrysomela populi
