The Living Forest (74) : Common Tormentil
Tormentil likes to grow on light acid soils and is flowering from may till september with one very small yellow flower that grows at the tip of a long stalk.
In the past the dried root of Tormentil was often used for food in times of famine.
This flower is so so small (only 0,7cm wide ) that you need almost an eagle eye to spot it, but I got it !
Dutch name : Tormentil
German name : Blutwurz
Latin name : Potentilla erecta

So, you have an eagle eye! (was maybe a Cherokee in your family in the past? :-))))) ) Well. In this case it is much bigger achievement to take such an excellent shot of this small plant. Clear details and fantastic lights. Very good work, Mark.Hugs, Kati
