This beats any sunset anyday!
The picture shows Noctilucent Clouds captured from the top of a hill 3 km from my home in Ringsted, Denmark.
Below the horizon to the right, the cars are hurdling along the freeway apparently unimpressed by this great show put on by mother nature.
Noctilucent clouds are ice-crystals in altitudes of 70-90km that reflects the sunlight when the sun has a certain position below the horizon.
In Denmark we can usually observe the phenomena during June and July, a couple of hours before the sun gets up in the morning or after it sets in the evening... this is by the way my first sighting after I became aware of the phenomena.
The picture was taken on 21-Jul-2009 just before midnight (approxemately 2 hours after sunset). The panorama covers the horizon from west all the way to north-east.
The pictures (10 of them) was stiched together using the Photomerge Panorama function in Photoshop Elements 7.0

I hope you like it.
