Tsunami destroyed boats in Ban Nam Khem
Ban Nam Khem is a village nearby Takuapa where the tsunami broke in with a 8 meter high wave. Fisherboats were thouwn around like toys.
When I returned to Tap Lamu a marine port from the Thai navy, I still can recognize the damage of many houses, huts and boats, nine years later. Just the coast is cleaned up and the tourist action at the nearby Khao Lak goes on as the tsunami cataclysm never had occured.
The photo was captured near Khao Lak during our aid operation in Jan. 2005.
I will not post more photos which I captured from the tsunami aftermath, some are so much bloodcurdling and atrocious, there is no place in fc. Some of our acquaintance weren't so much lucky and passed away during the disaster (e.g. teacher of my kids).
