Under the Bridge - A Granville Island Moment

Fishing, anyone?

I suppose the title would be more aptly stated as A Granville Island Memory,
as the Sport Fishing Museum on Granville Island closed some years ago.
So, sadly, did the Model Ships Museum, whose banners appear in the photo.

But this was a sunny memory from my first visit to Granville Island in Vancouver,
British Columbia on a splendid autumn afternoon in 1999, The Island lies across False
Creek from downtown Vancouver and the Granville Island Bridge soars high above it.

Obviously, I was attracted by the imposing wood carving, but the museum
held an entirely different "lure" for me (While I love eating fish, I'm not a
fishing enthusiast) as it also housed an extensive display of model trains.

The image was shot on Kodak Ektachrome-200 slide film in my Canon EOS RT,
through a Tamron 28-200mm LD lens, set toward its widest view, and is presented
here for the first time in celebration of Kodak Alaris' recent announcement
that it would once again be producing an Ektachrome film stock.

a great scene from Granville Island and excellent your perspective here - I
know this carved fisherman very well, but have never been in the museum ...
    warm regards,
