In an ideal situation, a crew consists of pilot, crew chief, and at least three crew members.

"Inflation Fan Operation", "Throat Crew" (The throat crew's job is to hold the mouth of the balloon open so the fan can fill it with cold air and to clear any debris between the fan and the envelope), "Crown Line" (The crown line position is a key element to a successful inflation. The crown line person must act as "anchor" for the rising balloon, so a large, strong person is usually selected)



Idealer Weise hat eine Crew eines Heißluftballoons mindestens 5 Mitglieder: den Piloten, Crew Chief und mindestens drei Helfer. Folgende Positionen müssen besetzt werden:

"Inflation Fan" zum Aufblasen der Balloonhülle, "Throat Crew" zum Aufhalten der Balloonöffnung, "Crown Line" zum Sichern der Balloonhülle während des Aufblasens und -heizens, besonders bei Wind wichtig, um das Rollen der Hülle zu verhindern und den Balloon in Position zu halten.

Dieses Foto war sehr schwierig zu machen, denn der "Liner" war ständig in Bewegung, während sich die Hülle aufrichtete. Aus einer ganzen Serie habe ich mal dieses hier gewählt, weil es, wie ich finde, die Arbeit veranschaulicht, die ein Heißluftballon macht,
bevor er fliegen kann.
