The picture is very nice. The scene is well captured. Maybe one could cut a bit on the top and on the bottom and make a panorama out of it because both parts are rather boring. But that is no fault or mistake of you - i like the natural and classical 3:2 format. It is just an idea for an additional try.

  You may be right. there is too much black ground.
  I suppose i was creating three equivalent bands in the image.
  In the other images - where the sky is bigger and the trees are smaller - it feels to me that the sky and ground is squeezing the life (the broken line of trees) into a tiny yellow strip - and that seems quite like winter, to me. mark.
